Free, online access to a fully searchable collection of important sources and scholarship related to the Society of Jesus in Africa and Madagascar

 

Jesuit Sources in Africa (J.S.A), recently launched by the Jesuit Historical Institute in Africa aims at collecting and preserving primary sources from different administrative provinces and regions of the Jesuit Conference of Africa and Madagascar (JCAM), providing their contents in a single source. The Portal hosts a growing collection of the Essential Documents of the Society of Jesus in Africa and Madagascar, founding documents of provinces and regions, texts critical to Jesuit history in the continent, official letters, biographies, obituaries, and newsletters from different Jesuit provinces and regions. Access to documents and their use requires prior permission according to the official guidelines for archivists of the Society of Jesus in Africa and Madagascar.
