| Abstract: | The development of this strategic plan is a Kairos! It is a favorable moment during which HUC took the time to contemplate its 40-year journey and imagine a new path, in a constantly changing world and in an African context loving the birth pangs of more human dignity, more well-being and more justice and peace. This Strategic Plan is the choice of excellence in its deep desire and vision to respond “to the plights of the neediest and the most vulnerable of the society.” |
| Description: | At age forty, we are not young any more. Nor are we old. But, having lived for forty years, we can inhabit those places where we are with what we have learned. Hekima is also along in years but still young. We, the collective force of Hekima, are at this moment in time in a position to shape its legacy, to foster its growth and make it even greater as time passes. We can be bold without being omniscient and proud without being self-satisfied. This manner of being will help us as the middle age of Hekima gives way to a future full of promise and hope. We must ensure its growth by ‘praying as if everything depends on God but acting as if everything depends on us.’ We, together, have the next six years to fertilize and nurture the ground of these hopes and strengthen our desire to leave a lasting legacy: by putting into practice those ideas of the current Strategic Plan 2024-2030. |
