The homily was animated by Walle Gandafen_US
In today’s gospel the father urges his servants to kill the fatted calk and to make merry, to rejoice and celebrate because his son was lost, he is now found. But how can we rejoice in a broken world in us and around us? How can I be glad when I’m not at peace with myself and I experience an internal division which makes me decides wrongly and feel sad; an inner brokenness that echoes saint Paul’s “I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.” How we rejoice and be glad when we experience division, tensions, wounds and conflicts in our families, communities, countries and in our world?..en_US
