dc.description.abstract	Toppo was born on 9 June 1923 in Karanjtali, Ranchi, Bihar, India. He joined the Ranchi Province and did his novitiate at St. Stanislaus College, from 1942 to 1944, following which he did his juniorate at the same institution from 1944 to 1946. He then moved to Sacred Heart College where he did his philosophy studies from 1946 to 1948. For regency, he was assigned to St. John’s High School, Ranchi, from 1949 to 1951; theology studies followed at St. Mary’s Kuriong from 1952 to 1955.	en_US
