Our Gospel reading reminds us once again about forgiveness (Mathew 18: 21-35). “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him?” Peter begins by establishing what he and we might consider a rather high bar of forgiveness. This is a natural question, a legitimate concern. Peter actually offers an answer he thinks Jesus will be pleased with. As many as 7 times? Seven is generous if not too generous. Why?en_US
