Abstract: JHIA is on vacation, well-deserved break for the staff after a long and productive year. Jeff, Denis and Philip are with their respective families. We wish them all the best! Dr Kyama Mugambi is leaving us to join a tenure position at the prestigious Yale University in the USA. Dr Mugambi has been a wonderful presence at JHIA, hard-working, professional, and above all, he has been a friend to all of us. We wish him all the best, and extend the same blessings to his beloved family. They will be missed! Meanwhile, Father Anicet is on the road, or rather on the boat heading to Bukavu where he has a workshop with the Tertians on the history of the Society. He will spend some more time in the country for his own research. It has been a month since I left my JHIA’s office for a visit to Cameroon as Procurator. And I am currently attending the extended consult of the Province to examine important matters for our mission. It has also been a busy time as we all welcomed Competing Catholicisms and as I keep working on both the English and French version of The Jesuit Ethos. All is going well.
