Abstract: reality is an ever present and inescapable dimension of life. It comes upon us, welcome or unwelcome. We long for reality, yet we fear it. We resist reality, and then accept it. The prospect of reality causes all kinds of conflicting emotions to well up in us: discomfort, relief, uncertainty, hope, anger, joy, regret and happiness. In all this we can say like St. Paul, “what will separate us from the love of God...” (Romans 8: 35).....
