This homily is about trust in the Lord and was preached by Grant Tungay, SJen_US
The Gospel reading today speaks essentially about trust in the Lord. The disciples, the 12, are sent out by Jesus on mission, “to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to heal”. But this sending out comes with some instructions, which on the face of it can seem quite harsh. Take nothing for your journey: no staff, no travel bag, no food, no spare clothes and no financial resources. Jesus sends them out with nothing – but the proclamation of the Kingdom of God.en_US
