dc.description.abstractOn January 1, 1962, the Society of Jesus founded INADES - the African Institute for Economic and Social Development - at Abidjan, in the Ivory Coast. The Society was responding to the request of the French speaking bishops of West Africa who wanted to demonstrate the interest that the Church was taking in the development of newly independent African nations. In 1982, INADES celebrated its twentieth anniversary and this was a good occasion to take note of all that it had accomplished....en_US
