dc.description.abstract | Sometime in 1979 I was asked to move to Chitungwiza, 30 kilometers south of Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe. Chitungwiza has almost half a million people, and has become the third largest town in the country. It was here that the International Red Cross built a refugee camp for about 18,000 people. Next to it was Chirambahuyo, a slum constructed by the people themselves, with another 18,000 people. This area was being served by three Carmelite Fathers when I was asked to move in and start training lay people..... | en_US |
