Abstract: In 1994, following the genocide in Rwanda, some 600, 000 refugees crossed the border into Tanzania. At the time, it was one of the biggest refugee movements in modem history. Only a few weeks later it was exceeded by the arrival of 1.2 million Rwandans in eastern Zaire and Burundi. The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) works with the Rwandan people in Rwanda, as well as in the refugee camps of Tanzania, Burundi and Zaire....
