Description: | In Minia, the city of legendary Nefertiti, a Jesuit community was established in 1887. By 1992 there were 43 Jesuit schools in Egypt. At present Jesuits and laypeople form an Association which has placed five buildings, three athletic fields and a swimming pool at the disposal of an educational program for Christian and Muslim youth. The Association also sponsors programs of alphabetization in some 20 villages around Minia. |
