dc.description.abstract | The political ups and downs of Rwanda and Burundi have conditioned the work of the Jesuits in both countries-doors which unexpectedly open to allow the apostolic activities but which also unexpectedly close. Wars, death, political changes. It is not easy to follow the Jesuit chronicle in Rwanda and Burundi. As the article states, the seed was planted and trees grew. But a gale shook them. In spite of it all, the Jesuits continue to teach, to offer Spiritual Exercises, to serve the refugees and to look after orphans and abandoned children, while searching for the way of forgiveness and reconciliation among the fighting factions. | en_US |
