Abstract: This letter illustrates the kindliness with women shown in a notable proportion of the Ignatian correspondence, and hints at their affection for him. In this case there is a father-daughter relationship, transposed onto a spiritual plane, as Ignatius looks for considerations that will bring peace of mind in the midst of acute bereavement.
