An Eight Days Retreat Plan for Novices Preparing for their First Vows

Title: An Eight Days Retreat Plan for Novices Preparing for their First Vows
Authors: Gakuya, Daniel Waweru
Abstract: This is an eight days directed retreat plan for novices who are preparing for their first vows. The aim of this retreat is to make them realize the presence of God in their lives, the effect of sin and the need to detest it, to enhance their commitment in following Christ, their joy in the risen Christ, and their offering of themselves to God in their first vows. The theme of the retreat will be: “Commitment to walk in the footsteps of Christ.” The eight day retreat plan will be adapted from the four weeks of St. Ignatius Spiritual exercises, to cover the areas of sin, public life of Jesus, Passion and Resurrection.
Description: This Paper was written Daniel Waweru Gakuya after An Eight Day Certificate Course in Retreat Direction which was directed by Dr. Gaspar Sunhwa

Retreat Direction by Gautier Yameogo, SJ

Title: Retreat Direction by Gautier Yameogo, SJ
Authors: Yameogo, Gautier SJ
Abstract: Every retreat has its own particularity! There is always something new to discover and experience!
It is not a routine... You have to go beyond routine because there is a search for God in what you want. It should not be a mere formality! Because there is a new page to write! A new experience! Each one in its own particularity! A retreat is a desert experience! The desert is a parched area...without life... No landmarks or no boundary markers! An original void! A place of purification and far from comfort! There is total surrender to God! In this desert, we have to search and find God's will in our own life! What God wants for me personally during this retreat?
Description: This Spiritual Exercises paper was an 8-Days Vow Discernment Retreat for Jesuit Novices as part of their theological formation
